On June 22nd we traveled out to Hopkinton State Park for the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition's Against the Tides Fundraiser. Over $70,000 was raised for the prevention of breast cancer through several events. Participants can choose to swim, run or kayak and any combination of these.

Plymouth Relay for Life

I was excited to have my stepchildren join me for this event at their school
They had activities run throughout the event keeping people motivated
My husband and I walking the track
The words Cure and Hope lit up in luminaries

On June 21st I had the opportunity to participate at Plymouth's Relay for Life. During this event walkers continue walking throughout the night to raise money for American Cancer Society. Joined by my family we walked for a few hours around the track, just a small portion of what walkers would do during their time there. I was able to speak with survivors and take part in the luminary event including the silent lap. Over $150,000 was raised at just this event, it shows just how important these events are towards ACS's mission.

I announced both the winners for the 50/50 raffle and Fleetwood Mac tickets
The fireworks were beautiful

I had a awesome day on June 15th at Hanover Day where the town celebrated with many events. I was excited to see how many families were out for a nice healthy active day. They had a vendor fair, many bands playing as well as sports tournaments and a road race. The evening activities included bands, raffles and fireworks. I was able to speak to many people about my mission of cervical cancer awareness for this years reign.

An Eva-ning Out

Eva and I

It was an amazing opportunity on June 8th to help out the Fox family fund raise during their last year of treatments for Eva's leukemia. The event had a lot of turn out and had raffles, silent auction and even a area where you can help buy dinners for the family from their favorite spot. I hope that this one night helps out the family for the year to come and makes things just a little bit easier.
