Kay Jewelers

I stopped by Kay Jewelers on the way back from the parade today to meet the staff that gives my husband such great advice.

Scituate St. Patrick's Day Parade

So excited to share this experience with my husband, mother-in-law and stepdaughter
Posing with some of the other units in the parade
Autographs and pictures with some new friends

Today I participated in another St. Patrick's Day Parade. Thank you to Bob from Automart for donating my car for the day. This time we had a sunny day and another great group of spectators. The perfect way to spend my St. Patrick's Day this year!

CATWALK4CANCER

Waiting for the event to begin
Speaking about my platform to hundreds of attendees

I received such positive feedback from speaking
This shows you how much planning and effort goes into running this event
The audience supported each and every model that walked the runway
The models wore fashions from local vendors
The committee members on stage along with their faculty advisor
Some of the committee members that organized the event

Another committee member who made sure I was taken care of from arrival

On March 16th I had the great honor of being able to attend and witness this amazing event organized over the past seven months by high school students. It was truly a inspiring event with more than 900 attendees each year. I also received the privilege of speaking at this 6th annual event. I was able to speak about my platform and hopefully convince a few listeners to be more proactive about their own health as well as their families health. Each of the models had to undergo a application process including writing essays about the personal impact cancer has had as well as walking. All the proceeds from sponsorships, ticket sales and T-shirts go to Dana Farber Cancer Institution. One of the more touching moments was the survivor segment where cancer survivors were able to strut their stuff on the runway. All together an incredible experience and one that I will never forget!

Miss Massachusetts America Preliminary

On March 10th I attended a preliminary pageant for Miss Massachusetts America where they crowned Miss Middleboro, Miss Plymouth County, Miss Lakeville and Miss Cranberry Country. The 18 contestants did very well and should all be proud of themselves. I also ran into Miss New England Teen American Coed and Miss New England Jr. Teen American Coed. American Coed is where I first started my pageant experience so it was nice to see representatives from this organization but a little bittersweet since it reminded me I have been aged out for 10 years.

Project Cupid

I got to work the opportunity drawings table for the night.
Here are the bachelors and bachelorettes that volunteered to be auctioned off for charity
Since one of my missions this year is to pay it forward to Dana Farber I got involved in Project Cupid on March 9th. Unfortunately because of the blizzard it was postponed but still had an amazing turn out. We ended up raising about $16,000 between the admission, auctions and opportunity drawings. It felt great to be able to pay back to Dana Farber and help raise this money for the Jimmy Fund.

Cape Cod St. Patrick's Day Parade

I had a blast at the Cape Cod St. Patrick's Day Parade down in Dennis and Yarmouth on March 9th. The crowd was so supportive and welcoming even though the wind was strong through the whole parade route. A special thanks goes to McGee Family dealerships who sponsored my car for this event. It feels so good to know that the community is willing to help me out. I am looking forward to more parades like this one!
